Negotiations between Emmet County, the Emmet County Sheriff's Office and the Fraternal Order Order of Police Labor Council successfully resulted in the ratification of contracts for Command Officers, Road Patrol Officers and Corrections Officers.  The ratified contracts have been submitted for the BOC approval.

Changes across all three contracts include:  Wage increase of 10% for 2023, 3% for 2024 & 3% for 2025.

Retention benefits previously extended to other County staff such as; reduced vesting for retirement contributions, tuition reimbursement, participation in the MERS Health Care Savings Program and AFLAC Benextend program are included in the proposed contracts.

I recommend approval of the Collective Bargaining Agreements between the Command Officers, Road Patrol Officers, and Corrections Officers bargaining units; the Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council; the County of Emmet; and the Emmet County Sheriff as presented, for the term of 1/1/2023 through 12/31/2025.

Counsel has reviewed the contracts and approve as to legal form.

I move that the Board approve the Collective Bargaining Agreements between the Command Officers, Road Patrol Officers and Corrections Officers bargaining units; the Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council; the County of Emmet; and the Emmet County Sheriff as presented for the term of 1/1/2023 through 12/31/2025, and authorize the County Administrator to sign the same.
