EMMET COUNTY - Board of County Commissioners Meeting August 8, 2022 - 6:00 PM Child and Parent Legal Representation Grant


SUMMARY: The Emmet County Probate and Family Court hears cases involving child welfare. Most parents involved in such proceedings are unable to retain their own counsel. The Court provides legal representation for those parents as well as for the children involved by providing court-appointed attorneys. The funds allocated this year totals $9,750.00 and can only be used for legal matter involving neglect and abuse cases where a child is placed out of his/her home.


RECOMMENDATION: I recommend approval of this request. David Boyer, County Administrator MOTION: I move that the Board accept the FY 2023 Child and Parent Legal Representation Grant (CPLR) for Probate and Family Court in the amount of $9,750.00. VOTE: Roll Call
