This is a joint project between Greenwood Cemetery Association and Gibson Excavating Company that includes some re-landscaping of current property at the fairgrounds. We briefed the BOC on this project recently, including hosting meetings with Commissioners at this location so that they could better understand the scope of this project. This project consists of reducing the scrub tree line at the south end of the park, and along the fence line that adjoins the cemetery and fairgrounds property. In addition, the current large hills will be re-landscaped into a contoured scale that allows for additional parking lots to be established for vehicles, and improved drainage and maintenance capability. Some of the fill taken from this project will fill a large crevice area to the parks south border, and also fill a low drainage ditch across the front of the grand stands. Prior to the fill being placed, Gibson’s Excavating will insert conduit sleeves for future connectivity for water, electric, and gray water discharge. Gibson’s will also raise any current water sump outlets, and completely hydro-seed the entire areas of the park that are disturbed. At this time this entire project should not cost the fair or the P&R department any budgeted funds. Future funding to hook-up the water, electric and gray water PVC in the placed underground sleeves will be sought by the Fair.
For discussion purposes only at this meeting. It will be an action item at the July 23rd meeting.
